What is Elastic Cloud Platform?
Elastic Cloud Platform is a terminology used to describe a cloud computing feature that defines the degree to which a system is able to adapt to workload changes by commissioning and de-commissioning resources in an autonomic manner, such that at each point in time the available resources match the required demands. It is a defining characteristic that differentiates it from previously proposed computing paradigms, such as grid computing. This dynamic variation in the use of computer resources to meet a varying workload is an important requirement for the success of cloud platforms.
